Brewdog | Brighton

Last night I went down to the opening night of Brewdog which has replaced the Blind Tiger club. If you were one of the lucky “punks” they opened the doors on Thursday for a sneak peek but you did need to hold shares. We headed down for around 6 o’clock and it was already very busy and buzzing. They don’t have a garden area but they have managed to put some heaters and chairs out front which was lucky as for us was the only place to sit down and enjoy our beers! The place has a cool industrial feel to it, a lot like other bars in Brighton. The beers displayed on a large cinema style board on it had 15 Brewdog beers and then the other 15 were guest beers from Stone to Brighton Bier the guy who poured my pint of Lizard Bride (slightly sour IPA) gave me the heads up that the board and beers would be ever changing. They also had a selection of bottles and some of the stronger brewdog beers they brew. The beers were great, sadly could not get them all in me but I did have Lizard Bride, Hop Fiction and Dead Pony Club all on tap and fresh! I could not leave just yet, I needed to get stuck into some food, the menu was slightly limited but looked good and good beer companions.I spilt the fish finger and pork belly sandwich with a friend both very tasty and came with some pickles that went well with the beers. All in all the place is a winner, cracking beers, good food, nice feel to it and friendly staff – they even have a taxidermy donkey.

Large selection and will apparently change a lot. Good selection of beers. Stones Go To IPA is a good shout as is the American Dream by Mikkeller from the guest beers.

Industrial all around, nice neon and features in the place, an upgrade from the blind tiger!

Lizard Bride by Brewdog. 5.5% tart, refreshing and very easy to drink. Think you might need to like sours to enjoy this.
